About Us

Zahra Institute, a research center and graduate school located in Chicago, intends to provide an open, collaborative environment for learning, teaching and scholarship in the fields of Kurdish Studies and Critical Muslim Studies. 

Established in 2010, Zahra Institute is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational initiative committed to the highest academic standards. Zahra Institute aims to address the needs of a range of learners through degree and non-degree programs. We value the diversity of our faculty and students and strongly support academic freedom and democratic ideals.
